HEP Gas Supply
Marko Blažević, born in 1980, studied at Zagreb University, Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering where he graduated in 2004. In 2014 he was appointed to his current position as CEO at HEP-Gas Supply Ltd., member of HEP Group, the largest energy company in Croatia. His responsibilities there include managing gas supply for all public service customers and market maker obligations on the balancing energy market.After completing his studies, Mr. Blažević worked as teaching assistant at the Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering from 2005 to 2010. The following three years he worked for the Croatian Energy Market Operator where he eventually became Head of the Gas Market Organization department. In this period his main focuses were gas market analysis, legal framework and proposing measures for their improvement. In 2013 he joined the Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency as an energy expert for gas market issues, contributing to gas market regulatory framework and its alignment with the EU regulations.Throughout his career he has continuously been monitoring trends in the Croatia, the EU and countries in the framework of the Energy Community energy markets. He also actively participated in the process of formulating the European agenda of Croatian energy sector’s regulatory and institutional framework. Furthermore, he was involved in solving expert issues in energy activities regulation through involvement in the working group "Harmonization of the Croatian energy sector and energy legislation from the Third Energy Package of the EU" of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.Mr. Blažević has taken active part in numerous domestic and international energy events and completed several Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) Training Courses, EFET Workshops and E-Control’s GasAKADEMIE. In 2016 he was recognized by the Croatian Gas Association (member of the International Gas Union) and presented with the Young expert headway in gas industry Award.
